Cost of Service

The fee for a standard 50-minute consultation is $250.00. Upon confirmation of your first appointment, your credit card details will be entered into the Halaxy Software Package (encrypted) for automatic payment (including issuing of relevant rebates). If you are unable to provide credit card details, alternate invoicing or BPAY can arranged.

Medicare rebates

As a clinical psychologist, I am endorsed to provide psychological services under Medicare Australia. This means that individuals and couples can access affordable psychological care and can receive a Medicare rebate for services provided. The rebate from Medicare is $136.35.

To access a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral from your GP. Simply make an appointment with your GP to discuss the nature of your request to see a psychologist and obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Your GP of Psychiatrist can then prepare a MHTP, which will enable you access up to 10-Medicare subsidised sessions per calendar year. Generally, your GP will refer you for a course of 6-sessions under an initial referral, then an additional 4-sessions under a re-referral totalling 10-sessions in a calendar year. 

Private health insurance

If you are a member of a private health fund, you may be entitled to claim a rebate for psychological services. The level of rebate will depend on your level of cover. For more information, we recommend that you contact your private health fund directly.

Cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please contact the practice within 48 hours of your appointment time. This policy is in place to allow us to offer the allocated time to another client who may be on a cancellation or waiting list for an appointment. In the event that less than 48-hours notice is given to cancel an appointment or a scheduled appointment is not attended, the consultation fee may be charged unless there are extenuating circumstances. Medicare does not cover cancelled appointments.
